I know that, in Isengard, it's still possible to get out of bounds, but it requires an Orc hitting you over a wall. That's one reason why I won't be sharing any of the paths (several of which are, in fact, still open), and why I only explore on alts, unless I've thoroughly mapped out/explored the area first. I've seen both my character and the server do some pretty funky things, especially when I get really far out there. You're right- it can cause serious problems I've seen a few of them firsthand. It was fun to do, but the consequences on a live server are potentially far worse than permanently losing a character that will be nuked in a few weeks on a test server anyway.Īlright, I guess it's impossible to be hypothetical, past this point. Back when I was on Isengard, they used to ask us to carefully run around the boundaries of all new areas, trying to get off-map, then file bug reports on them. That's why they will sometimes ban people who persist in running around off the map, and also why they try to close these holes as soon as they can after becoming aware of them. This is all true, and off-map travels can also sometimes crash a subserver, causing mini-rollbacks for people currently on that particular one.
